Screensaver Series

Choreography by JN Harrington

Screensaver Series is a kaleidoscopic performance installation choreographed by JN Harrington involving 5 dancers and musician/coder Jamie Forth. Relationships between movement—physical, virtual and abstract—and technology are the subject of research. With an interest in neurodivergent attention and information processing, Screensaver Series attempts to emulate a “background” state in which the movement of colour and patterns are foregrounded in between other types of demand and activity. Screen-saver mode is here imagined as a moratorium on meaning making, a pause in processing, and a space in which something else can unfold.

A very beautiful and deep study of movement alongside an astute and generous relationship between dance and a public.
